Soccer Meeting Notes: Monday 8/27/07

I – In the Event of an Emergency

a. In the event of an incident on the field, the ref will keep control of what they can, and then it is up to the team captain to have their players move as needed.

b. We are going to ask that each team captain collect emergency contact info in the event of an emergency. For the time being we have concluded not to collect additional medical information due to HIPPA laws and other liability.

II – After Sunday’s Incident, Nikki has the original referee report. Jean will need a copy to provide to Stacey for insurance purposes.

III – We are going to Incorporate the league so it as an actual Non-profit organization with a tax ID number. This will allow us to change our bank. We will also need to file with the IRS.

IV. The FSSA is missing our annual league affiliation fee of $50. Trudy will pay.

All board members please send your contact information to Albania . Nikki suggested everyone read the bi-laws and check out the position descriptions.

IV.              We concluded no need to pay for a website person, but if someone volunteers, we would accept.

X. New Registration: Each team please send Albania Excel list of players (women’s and co-ed). When adding or removing players, send Albania just the players affected. Albania will check online regarding the status (active v. non-active) of players and how the drop add process will work. Albania will also look into if we will need dual passes.

Heather is our FSSA liaison – Someone please ask her if the website is secure.

XI. Jen will create the game schedules for the upcoming season. 2 X’treme has asked to have the 7pm game for the first game if possible.

XII. Glenda noted that she returned one registration form to Theresa and paid for another.

XIII. Summer Rainouts: Trudy will see if we can get credit for the fields as there were at least 3 weeks of rainouts. It is too late now to give refunds for the teams as most have already collected the team fee for the fall season.

XIV. For players picked up from the website, please e-mail Albania or contactbwsl@yahoo.com  the girl removed from the website.

XV. Debbie mentioned the Renegades are getting new uniforms, but they will be the same color. We said all teams must have same color shirts, socks, and different numbers.

XVI. Rule changes/ Clarifications:

  1. Goal kicks should be 1 foot off the line.
  2. YES… you can score on a corner (direct kick)
  3. Goalie Rule should apply to all players. The notion was voted on and won by majority. Debbie will update the rules.

XVI. Table til the Spring: Summer games: 40 min halves. This affects ref fees as we pay them more now for the extra time. However, a lot of games aren’t playing the full 40 min.

XVII. Colombia Trip: An article and photo will run in the October issue of the Weston Express. Nikki will contact Gary at the Sun-Sentinel and give him the article.
