BWSL Meeting Minutes

I –Roll Call:
Teams Present: Sisterhood, Rocking Flamingos, Ravens, Lunachicks, X’treme, BC-Seahawks, Renegades and Fury
Teams Absent: Red Bulls FC
II – Communication Reports from Board Members:
A. President: Ericka Barquin: Nothing to Report
B. Vice President: Melissa Casey:
1. Needs new scheduling software that is PC and Mac compatible.
C. Secretary: Jen Pudsey: nothing to report
D. Treasurer: Albania Macrae:
1. Register Balance = $4,000 PayPal Balance = $1,000
2. Park Fees are usually $2,700 to $2,800 per season
3. Accountant we have retained will play for free in exchange for her services.
E. Registrar: Teresa Mujica: nothing to report
F. FSSA Liaison: Heather Aguilar: absent
G. Referee’s Liaison: Marie Amatulli: nothing to report
H. Games Rules Chairperson: Debbie Chin: absent
I. Marketing, Growth and Promotions Chairperson: Erin Scoggins: absent
III – Unfinished Business:
A. Spring Season:
1. Start on January 31st and last game will be on April 18th with holidays on February 7th for Super Bowl and April 4th for Easter. 2 possible rain out days April 25th and May 2nd.
2. Ericka will try to open the registration online by January 9th or 10th.
3. Waiting on an invoice from the park for the fields and lights to determine if we will need to raise the registration fees. So far, we do not think we will.
4. Registration fees should be $65 and a player’s pass for new players is $23.
5. Game times will be 4pm and 6pm unless something changes with the park.
B. Draft System
1. Scrimmage on January 24th for any players that submitted their info through the website.
2. Game time will be 3pm.
3. One or more of the teams will bring jerseys for the players to use so we can keep track of the players during the scrimmage
4. Ericka will organize the scrimmage and contact all of the players from the website.
5. After scrimmage, the players will leave and a draft with the team captains will take place with the last place team from the previous season picking first and going up the line to 1st place. Once 1 round has taken place, the next round will start in the same order. As a team gains all of the players they need, they will drop out of the draft.
C. Tournament:
1. Marketing will take charge of the tournament.
2. Will be scheduled during the Spring Season possibly March 20th. Ericka will check with the park for availability.
3. Format will be 6 v 6 25-30 minute games with a 10 player max on the roster.
4. Saturday only tournament 8am-5pm.
5. Responsibilities for the tournament will be divided up amongst the Board Members. Erin will Spearhead and Delegate the responsibilities.
6. Teresa will make a 1 sheet of responsibilities that usually occur during a tournament and Erin can use that as a jump start.
IV - New Business
A. Fall Season Standings and prizes:
1. 1st Place team $150 Sisterhood—took a check
2. 2nd Place team $75 X’Treme—money will be deducted from player registration
3. 3rd Place team $50 Ravens—took a check
B. Game Sheets:
1. We will no longer be using the triplicate sheets; they are not required by the FSSA.
2. Each team will get a print out of the official roster from the FSSA website. The team captain will be responsible to make copies and bring 1 to each game.
3. The roster has each player’s name and player pass number on it and a place for the player to sign.
C. League Meetings:
1. Will continue to be on Mondays
