BWSL Meeting Minutes

I –Roll Call:
Teams Present: Sisterhood, Rocking Flamingos, Lunachicks, X’treme, Renegades, Ravens, Fury, Red Bulls and Seahawks
Teams Absent: None
II – Communication Reports from Board Members:
A. President: Ericka Barquin: absent
B. Vice President: Melissa Casey: nothing to report
C. Treasurer: position no longer filled
D. Secretary: Jen Pudsey: nothing to report
E. Registrar: Teresa Mujica: nothing to report
F. FSSA Liaison: Heather Anquillare: absent
G. Referee’s Liaison: Marie Amatulli: nothing to report
H. Games Rules Chairperson: Debbie Chin: nothing to report
I. Marketing, Growth and Promotions Chairperson: position no longer filled
III – Unfinished Business:
A. Fall Registration
1. No Issues with Rosters or passes
2. Last Day to Register players is Thursday, 9/30 Midnight
B. Stats
1. Must be reported to Vice President, Melissa Casey, by midnight the Wednesday after your game via email.
i. Reporting should include: Final Score, any yellow or red cards received and by whom. Goals and assists can be included but are not required.
2. Game Sheets should be turned into Board Members at the field, if possible. Ericka, Melissa or Jennifer are the people you should turn the sheets into.
3. Even if you turn in game sheets to a Board Member, you still must report your scores to Melissa for them to count.
C. Make up Games:
1. Week 1 had 2 games that were rained out and need to be made up.
2. Discussion of possibly making October 31st a makeup day since we had originally taken that day off for Halloween.
i. Majority of all teams present were agreeable to this proposition.
D. Schedule:
1. December 19th might be a problem with people out of town for the holidays. Also, Broward College School term ends before that date and their players might not be in town.
2. It was suggested that we conduct the Playoffs as a 1 Day Tournament instead of 3 days of playoffs and finals.
3. 1 Day tournament would be held on December 5th. If necessary, we could use November 21st as a rain out makeup day.
E. Miscellaneous:
1. Website: Fury would like a URL link to their own website that they already have on their team page on BWSL.org when new site is finished.
2. Each Team must have a rep at each meeting. If a team does not have a rep at the meeting, the team will be fined $25 payable before the next game.
3. Lunachicks has a player that is working at a new indoor place in Pompano called Futbol FC. They want to start a women’s indoor league. Please poll your team to determine the interest and preferable night for the league and get back to either Jane or Ericka of Lunachicks.
IV – New Business:
A. Elections:
1. Ericka needs to send an email to all team reps about nominations for Board Positions.
2. All Nominations should be emailed to Ericka before the next meeting.
3. Nominations will be discussed and put in a form to be voted on by each team at the game after the next meeting on October 18th.
4. Board Members terms will start at the meeting in November.
